I Miss Ronald Reagan

One of the things I liked about Ronald Reagan was his ability to use wit and humor to win the crowd.  Reagan was not popular at times.  He had to make hard decisions with both the economy and the Cold War with the Soviet Union.  Today, he is often ranked as the favorite of all previous Presidents.

When I watch what is happening today, as America's influence in the world has been embarrassed by weak foreign policy through Barack Obama's administration, I wonder, how would Reagan have handled the various situations?  Do you think he'd give up five high level terrorists from Gitmo for one soldier who deserted his post in Afghanistan? Would he have let terrorists kill our ambassador in Benghazi?  Give Russia carte blanche in Ukraine and abandon NATO?  My, how things have changed.

Here's a great one from "The Gipper":

"Government is like a baby. An alimentary canal with a big appetite at one end and no sense of responsibility at the other."  Ronald Reagan
