I found an interesting comment on the Blaze this morning as they were talking about the subject of homosexuality and its acceptance in current society. I thought it was interesting and thought I would post it. I would be interested to hear your responses. (I have posted this person's comments before.)

"Every super power nation in the
history of the world that has accepted homosexuality as normal, has soon after
collapsed
Gays are only 2.5% of the total
population, and they make up 64% of all syphilis cases, made up 57% of new HIV
cases last year, did 1/3 of all child molestations in America, have some of the
highest suicide rates, have above average alcohol and drug abuse rates. They
are a sick and diseased people who are prone to crime, abuse, and immoral
behavior.
There is no gay gene. Homosexuality
is not a choice, it is a series of bad choices that leads to destruction for
the individual, and the nation that accepts or promotes them.
Just like rape, child molestation,
swinging, bestiality…. homosexuality is a sexual perversion. It is not the
norm, and it never can be.
World history shows homosexuality to
be destructive to nations. Medicine shows homosexuality to be destructive to
families and individuals. Bible shows homosexuality to be wicked and hated by
God (Lev 18:22, Romans chapter 1).
The family is the most basic unit of governance and
education. When the family falls, the nation falls. Homosexuality is an act
against the family, against ones self, and against God."
McNaughton said: I believe that God loves us all whether we are gay or not. The question is whether homosexuality is wrong. Undoubtedly yes.
its beyond wrong its disgusting and no matter what a human trys to say to justify this immoral act doesnt make it right! its what the word of god says and he says its WRONG and DISGUSTING!!
ReplyDeleteAMEN WILL SAID!!!
ReplyDeleteGenesis 2:24 For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife, and they will become one flesh. Notice it did not say that a man will be united to his wife or significant other. It did not say that a woman will be united to her wife. God ordained the union between man and woman. The act of homosexuality is wrong, and it is wrong to twist God's Word to push an agenda.
ReplyDeleteSociety will not stand where homosexuality is prevelent. This has been proven time and time again. It goes against The Word of God. It is considered a sin. If you disagree, you disagree with God, and it is Him you need to argue your case against.
ReplyDeleteGod says it's wrong, that's good enough for me.
ReplyDeleteLove the sinner hate the sin. It is wrong to sin in any way it is not something a person is born with it is a choice or like stated a series of bad choices. It is wrong and we as a nation will be punished for all the GodLess Bad Choices being made now.
ReplyDeleteGod loves the sinner and hates the sin, but we still have to pay the price. If God says homosexuality is a sin then who are we to contradict Him. Fornication is a sin too and
ReplyDeletetaken as the norm today. Society's decline in morals will be America's undoing. That and removing God from our country.
I don't know who rangerskippy is, but I think he is so wrong and doesn't understand the love of God. He also doesn't seem to know that 'whoever keeps the entire law, yet fails in one point, is guilty of breaking it all'. ... We are all sinners. I also think biological makeup is certainly a factor in homosexuality.
ReplyDeleteGod is love, and he loves every homosexual too. Biological makeup has little to do with it.It is still a perversion of God's design. He says in many places in the bible that they are among those who will not enter the kingdom. But God ca n change hearts and they can be forgiven.
DeleteBiological makeup is certainly a factor in homosexuality. I don't agree, however even if so, you could say the same about lust. Lust is sin, Jesus said whoever looks at a women and lusts after her has commited adultery. So your argument is just an excuse for sin. God is love and wishes that none would parish, but we have to turn to Him, confess our sin and,"key word here" REPENT! That doesn't mean we don't fall, but we fight the good fight. Being a slave to God's righteousness is liberty in its most awesome form!!!!
DeleteI admire your art, and I agree with you that homosexuality is wrong...but living in a truly free society is more complicated than just eliminating that which we think is wrong. Giving these people the same rights as you and me doesn't particularly mean we accept them. Granted, history shows us that all previous super powers that have excepted gays as normal have fallen, but our country's philosophy has never been tried before us. Our Republic is truly unique and a first...so who's to say we can't make it work...
ReplyDeleteHow are we a truly free society when law makers make it illegal to think freely. I agree that all people should have the same rights. But why does that mean that it has to be illegal to disagree with homosexuality. The liberal government and the media have proven that if anyone speeks out agoinst a liberal cause like gay mariage, abortion, gun controll, ect. They are pusished, ridiculed, labeled, and persecuted. That means that you are only free as long as you agree with liberal thinking. Freedom isnt changing the constitution to make 2% happy while the other 98% suffer. This is not freedom it is selective tolerance and evil. Ken, you simply dont know what you are talking about.
DeleteGod loves us all the same whether we are homosexuals, adulterers, thieves, con artists, and the list goes on. Incredibly, He even loves politicians and news editors. The fact is, every one of us has some kind of sin in our lives. That being said, He desires for us to give our broken selves to Him so that we can be fixed. He paid the ultimate cost (His death on the cross)to make that option available to us. In light of that sacrifice it is disrespectful to try to come to Him on our terms and not His. He has told us what those terms are, and we are foolish to think we can apply amendments to them.
ReplyDeleteHomosexuality is a SIN against God. People normalizing homosexuality as something acceptable in our lives is normalizing sin before God. What's next to normalize sinful acts as acceptable in the society? Lying? Cheating? Stealing? Having sex with a married person or a child or an animal? Murdering?
ReplyDeleteWe are still engaging in wicked behaviors and normalizing sins before God since the beginning of mankind. Why? Because we forget or reject God and His Laws and His Love.
two greatest sins that will destroy this nation is abortion and homosexuality, just look at history and see all the great nations that have fallen due to sins of man
ReplyDeletewhat about brokers who gamble with people's retirements, leaving them in poverty? what about irresponsible companies that dump their polluted waste in drinking water that cause cancer and birth defects in the populations of the surrounding areas? what about the "leaders" who borrow against our children's and grandchildren's futures, essentially enslaving them into perpetual debt? what about the telecasters who spread nothing but errant lies that corrupt people's minds with fear and anger, making them turn against their brothers and neighbors? maybe it's time for you to turn off your TV, and see the world outside of your own self-confirming biases.
DeleteI feel that what two people do in their bedroom is their own business, even though i find homosexuality abhorrent. I agree with everything said in the post, and if gay couples wish to engage in gay sex, they do so at their own peril, but the promotion of that lifestyle in our society is evil and WILL bring about the downfall of a civil society. We should in no way promote this or attempt to place it on the same level as heterosexual relationships by advocating gay "marriage"...that is an oxymoron. This is just another example of the liberals turning our once great nation into Gomorrah or Caligula's Rome in the name of "coexistence"...i blame our media, 200%!!
ReplyDeleteI think we all know the position of religious individuals on homosexuality? What was the point of the post? To share RangerSkippy's words with a larger audience? Seems like it.
ReplyDeleteMy purpose is to hear what you think about this person's opinion on the subject. I usually get a mixed bag of opinions on here. Your thoughts only seem to show contempt for religious opinion.
DeleteYes homosexuality is a sin. So is lying, backbiting, gossiping. God puts no price tag on sin. No one sin is greater than another. God loves homosexuals just as much as he loves you or me. He wants them to turn from their sin, just as much as he wants you or I to. Be careful what measure you use to judge others by for it is the same measure you will be judged with.
ReplyDeleteSo telling a white lie is the same as murder? I think not. There are degrees of sinning, and the trespass against fellow mankind and God differs depending on the sin. That's very apparent if you read the bible.
DeleteThe word of God judges them. They are choosing to live a lifestyle in conflict with God. As many do that live in sin period.
DeleteTelling a white lie is only the same as murder in that it will send the person to hell unless the person agrees with God that the sin is wrong and has trusted in the sacrificial death of Christ to bring forgiveness and freedom from it. Aside from that there are many differences to sins. Some sins bring many consequences and some bring very few but they all result in a spiritual death unless the sinner has repented and been adopted into the family of God. If you are one who has trusted in Christ's sacrifice for your sins, then you will not embrace and defend the sin in your life but you will see it as God sees it and work to allow His Spirit to remove it from your life.
DeleteOne of the fundamental problems with the issue is that of understanding the context of "judging". Such scriptures as "judge not lest ye be judged" and others are misunderstood and misrepresented by proponents of homosexuality and even some Christians alike. I think a study of scripture reveals two contexts of judgment/judging. One is to ETERNAL LIFE and the other is to BEHAVIORS. We are not to judge anyone in regards to their eternal life (declaring they are "going to hell") because we will all be judged by GOD according to the content of our heart. Thus we have no means or standing from which to judge someone's salvation. But it is absolutely IMPERATIVE that in determining what does and does not please God that we judge BEHAVIORS. There are many examples of behaviors which are not mentioned in scripture, and those may take more consideration. What a married heterosexual couple may do in their bedroom could deserve some thought too. But homosexual BEHAVIORS, acts, have been addressed clearly and without equivocation by God Himself. These contexts of judging are also directly pertinent to the concept of "love the sinner but hate the sin". We need to know and understand this so we can address the matter in discussions without being shamed or intimidated into acquiescence by pro-homosexual arguments.
ReplyDeleteICor. 5:9-13 tells us that we are not to judge the behaviors of those outside the church body. God will judge them, but if there is sin inside the church we must judge those in our midst. Trouble is, we are becoming like Sodom. Our nation has become a Godless nation, worshipping ourselves, our own comfort and entertainment. The highest good is "happiness", not morality.
DeleteWe were better off as a nation when gays were openly looked down on as substandard people. I personally still do.
ReplyDeleteIt amazes me how easy it is to get people to believe a lie. There is no way to prove that people are born gay. Who is the man that says he has proved this theory? What is his name? I believe in the one who has told us that it is wrong. His name is God. God has never lied to me before and I am certain He is not lying to me now. Satan however is a liar and it is possible that he is lying to people, even as young children. Still, we should love the sinner and hate the sin. This does not mean that we should condone their behavior and pass laws in favor of them.
ReplyDeleteIt is a sin like any other sin that human beings find themselves in. For this reason, we should be forgiving. As an artist, I know many gays who are likable, helpful and kind. I try to overlook their choices and have compassion. When I disagree or even abhor someone else's behavior, I say to myself: "There but for the Grace of God go I."
ReplyDeleteHomosexuality is a sin, infact God says it is an abomination to Him. I think most people do not understand that abortion and homosexuality is breaking a covenant with God. God gave us sexuality to procreate to have children for the Lord. It is so sad to me that in this nation, both secular non-believers and Christians alike have calloused their conscience for political correctness. Do we Christians not know, that to "go along" is not speaking the truth and blocking an avenue to awareness of sin against God which leads to repentance and salvation?
ReplyDeleteThis is the most truthful and concise synopsis of homosexuality that I have read of late. If only those who are being deceived could see these truths...
ReplyDeleteWe only have the promise of protection if you are a moral people. The scriptures are ripe with stories about those who lost God's protection because they worshiped false idols, and fell away from Him.
ReplyDeleteWe wrestle not against flesh and blood; the problem is that the evil one advances his agenda and tries to bully the Christian community into confusing their focus. We are not called to make a call. Our focus is to bring Jesus and His word of reconciliation. The enemy would try to force us into a corner. The question is what do you do with a man who lived such a radical life and proclaimed such a radical message. Let the Holy Spirit change the world, we are just His His messengers. Love passionately and the goodness of God will bring men to repentance.
DeleteMimi-No, YOU are wrong. God hates homosexuality because it is the ultimate form of idolatry; men worshiping men and women worshiping women. Homosexuality is neither a “choice” nor are people “born gay”. It is a cause and effect relationship. Now, when people strive to bring normalcy to homosexuality, they are in full rebellion to God. Does this mean the homosexual, still having his/her aberrant sexual desires is condemned? Only if they persist in their rebellion. The Apostle Paul spoke about this in Romans 7:14-25. I am researching on a book about this very subject. And yes, nations that embrace homosexuality from the leadership down, fail and fail big. God hates homosexuality because it is idolatry.
ReplyDeleteThank you for this. Sometimes it is difficult to put into words. It is a sin and we still love the sinner but hate the sin. This sin does much damage!
ReplyDeleteMine is not to judge my neighbor, but to love them. God will judge each one of us.
ReplyDeleteHomosexuality is wrong, no doubt about how God views it. The biggest problem with any sin is getting the sinner to realize God has only the best for him in mind.
ReplyDeletePersonally I really don’t care what two consenting adults do with to each other behind closed doors, but the biggest problem I have with Homosexuality is that once it is accepted as a “normal” behavior, one that people are born with and so should be acceptable, then every other perversion will start claiming the same thing, just a few weeks ago I noticed an attorney claiming that the child molester he was representing was “Born that way” and so it was a “Normal” inclination, that is the problem with accepting gay rights!!!
ReplyDeleteI have known and currently know people who embrace that lifestyle. One of my best friends for many years came to me with the struggle she was having with her desire to "play for the other team." I could not tell her she was wrong, but neither could I endorse her decision. I simply told her, it was not my place to judge and that she was the only one that had to live with the consequences of her decision.
ReplyDeleteI do find it interesting that studies have been done in mammal populations that when overpopulation pressures manifest, a certain proportion of the population exhibits homosexual activity and the end result is the population crashes and all sorts of abnormal behavior including cannabilism occurs.
I tend to agree with the comment of RangerSkippy, but I'll leave the "how" to handle that situation with God. I don't think giving people some of the same basic rights as others is actually condoning the sin, but rather loving others, even if that means you give them more freedom to make a decision that will lead to consequences of negative impact with God. That's how he governs us, allowing us to choose and giving us full ability to do so. That being said - I know it's wrong behavior. I feel for those who struggle with those attractions and desire to live God's law. I can't imagine how difficult that would be.
ReplyDeleteI feel very sorry for you all.
ReplyDeleteThere is no scientific proof that homosexuality ISN'T genetic just as there is none that it is.
God made each individual after His own image.
And, every living breathing human being is flawed...of this, there is no argument. We are all sinners, or do you not know this about yourself?
If God did the making...who are we to question His design?
Those of you who say it isn't a matter of being "born that way"... how would YOU know?
My oldest son was raised in a Christian (born again, Bible believing, Jesus honoring) household with parents and a brother who loves him. He seriously dedicated himself to Christ, memorized whole chapters and books of the Bible...was once thought to be a top candidate to go to the mission fields wherever God would lead him to go. He was open to that. But there was an inner battle that raged against everything he knew to be "right" from the time he was very young until he reached his early twenties.
One he didn't share w/his own parents who not only loved and followed Jesus Christ, but loved him dearly... because he didn't want to hurt us with this dark secret that was always said to be so wrong. He never did act upon any of these feelings until he just couldn't reconcile them w/the faith he'd always professed for years. He found someone, stayed with that someone and ultimately married that someone and stayed with him for over twenty years. Their "gay marriage" ended in divorce as does so many "straight hetrosexual Christian" marriages these days.
The statistics in the article are wrong, and meant only to incite and inflame bigotry and hatred, which they do quite effectively.
It is NOT your place, nor your "right" to condemn another. You don't know them or their heart.
And reading through all of this tells me in major ways, that so many of you do not know Jesus as well as you may think you do.
"Beloved, let us love one another. For love is of God and he that loves knows God, and is born of God. He that does not love, does not know God, for God is love." 1 John 4:7,8
Attitudes like yours, like the one in the article, turns more ppl away from God than ever stand as testimony to God's true character. And has done more harm than you will ever know this side of the veil.
And just for your information...sin IS damaging. Every sin committed is lethal and damaging. But those whose pious platitudes precede their Christian charity are most damaging of all.
A person who suffers with same-sex attraction can be likened to one who suffers from addiction or other mental disorders. The suffering is real, but it IS a disordered attraction. Unfortunately, in our culture, we abhor suffering and avoid it at all costs. Our compassion for the sufferer can cloud our reason and weaken our will. It is the act that is sinful and destructive. Jesus offers redemption through suffering, and commands us to "take up our cross and follow." We all have crosses--some more difficult than others. In turning to Jesus in our suffering and joining ours to His, we come closer to complete union with Him. He came that we may have life and have it abundantly, and He showed us by His life, death, and resurrection the Way to that life.
DeleteCondoning or "normalizing" the homosexual lifestyle is not a compassionate response, as it leads away from God. Love triumphs over evil. We all need to know that we are loved unconditionally by God. Love seeks the good of the other. Nothing good comes from the homosexual lifestyle. Pray for those who suffer that God will strengthen them and be with them in their suffering. I will pray for your son, that he will find peace.
I agree wholeheartedly that there is so very much hate expressed towards this sin in many folks who claim the name of Christ. It is heartbreaking to me that this particular sin has been a target. It makes me want to defend homosexuality and say that it is not a sin. I wish that I could for it seems the loving thing to do. I wish that I could say there is no hell, too, but I cannot. If I were God there would be no hell and I would strike dead anyone who hurt another person. If God did that though, there would be no one left on this earth. There are so many things that we cannot understand about God. How He can be just and righteous and also be completely loving at the same time. We must trust that what He has revealed about Himself is true and enough for us to know, and we must love and help others, not hate them just because the sins they commit and cling to are ones we don't.
DeleteWhat expressions here are hateful? Why is it hateful to seek the good of another--the ultimate good that leads to peace?
DeleteThe LGBT movement has made this particular sin a target by insisting that the sin of the homosexual act not only be ignored, but celebrated and taught as a valid, normal lifestyle--no different from heterosexual relationships. The movement seeks to redefine marriage, and destroy the traditional family structure, so that homosexuals may live this sinful lifestyle openly. For the first time in history, marriage and parenthood are being viciously attacked.
I hate my sins (and they are many, some habitual), and constantly seek help from God and from those who love me to overcome them. Love leads us to turn from sin. Hate desires that we remain in sin and turn away from God, who is pure Love.
True Love is not a feeling, it is a person. 1 Cor. 13.
wow well said and I totally agree, thanks for the being brave enough to post and take a stand!
ReplyDeleteAs a mentor and counselor in the Christian addiction recovery community I will say this. According to Gods Word, homosexuality, like drunkenness,is sin.Sin is sin,and God hates sin, not the sinner. We are all guilty of being sinners, and must repent of it to be eligible for Salvation. To condone or tolerate any sin, as many people and churches do today, is just more sin, like adding fuel to the fire! The heinous behavior of men that we see in the world around us today, is nothing less than Gods prophesy being fulfilled. For anyone who takes Gods Word seriously, and would like to spend Eternity with Him, they must repent, and turn to Him, accept and have Faith in His Son, Jesus, and declare Him their Savior. This simple Truth applies to every sinner and lost soul on the planet, and regardless of the nature of the sin, in Gods eyes, it's all the same. My advice, no Gods advice, is to repent and do so soon!
ReplyDeleteWell, I agree with Rangerskippy's thoughts and would add that from biology's point of view, male and female sexual organs are complementary and made explicitly for one another with the purpose of reproduction.
ReplyDeleteGod made them so, and we should respect His will in using what He gave us in the way He intended it. Otherwise it would be like slapping Him in His face saying, "I don't care what You want, I do it my way…"
It's difficult to accept things that are unnatural. When an individual puts all their earthly desires into sexuality, it is a sure path to destruction causing one to be "unstable in all his ways". The destructive path of sexuality and seduction is not limited to gays.
ReplyDeleteI believe God put us here for spiritual development that has eternal rewards, and the refusal to fight against fleshly desires have eternal consequences.
There is no instability or sexual perversion in the character makeup of Jesus. To follow Him means to abandon earthly desires and groom oneself for the spiritual enlightenment of oneself and others yielding knowledge and wisdom given liberally to those who will cease pursuing their own desires and allow the Spirit of God to bring us from darkness into the light - where there is peace, unconditional love.
Our biggest problem is the refusal to understand that God made us "empty" and the only thing that will fill us is his love. He made us empty so that we might seek him, but of course, the world if full of empty things. And they sure make a lot of noise.
What a beautiful post!

ReplyDeleteRead Romans Chapter 1 carefully, it's perfectly clear on God's answer to homosexuality. Remember God's fury upon Sodom and Gomorrah. We treat our homosexual cousins and friends like any other relatives or friends. They need to hear God's repentance/salvation plan and prayers.
ReplyDeleteLove the sinners and hate the sins is never an easy thing to do.
I believe that it is wrong, but I will NEVER call my gay friends disgusting or wrong. We are all human made with the ability to make choices. I'm sorry that comment has made me very uncomfortable. God only told us to do one thing love one another and to forgive always. We should never judge those who are gay. I will still use my right to vote against gay marriage but if it were to pass I would not show hate against it or my friends who would then get married. Just like you and I have a choice to have sex before marriage or not so do they.
ReplyDeleteA much as i hate the sin of homosexuality what is even worse is when we allow them to bring a child into a bizarre relationship that could have never naturally produced a child......
ReplyDeleteSo the discussion of this topic seems to boil down to the belief that Christians have been told through God's Word that homosexuality is a sin. There does not seem to be a consensus as to the root "cause" of this attraction, as it is very a very complex subject. Suffice it to say that we live in a fallen world; thus, mankind has many weaknesses that must be individually battled throughout our lives. We understand that none will achieve perfection in this life, but the Savior will give us strength to fight our battles against our personal temptations throughout our lives. It seems to be agreed that our Creator loves all His children and wants us to repent of sin and live a Christlike life, with the hope and faith that perfection is achievable in eternity. Most agree that Jesus will be the Judge of our lives and behaviors, He having the perfect understanding of each person. So the main personal thought I would like to share on this subject is that the definitions of "love and compassion" have been greatly distorted by society. The new meaning seems to denote "tolerance". Some feel that this includes changing the laws to be "inclusive". Many seem to believe that there should be no absolutes regarding our behavior. Thus, laws get changed to reflect society's new mores. Schools begin to accept and teach any popular philosophy as a viable alternative to the standard truths. Then we have traditional groups that have stood the test of time, such as the Boy Scouts, who are now encouraged to change their oath to be inclusive. I think you see where this type of thinking leads. All truth is considered to be relative to the times and conditions in which we live. Soon we have a whole new generation that knows little about what has gone before and who have no sure foundation upon which to stand. That is not God's way, for He gave His commandments for mankind to follow throughout all time. As the saying goes, "You cannot break the commandments; you can only break yourself against them."
ReplyDeletepersonally i believe that God has the right to order His universe and say how His creation is supposed to be. i cannot speak on this topic any better than Matt Chandler did. you can find his 2 part discussion on Homosexuality on youtube. it's well worth your time and is done in a relevant, truthful and intelligent way. highly recommended if you're a christian trying to understand the issue and how to express your beliefs intelligently without sounding hateful, and yet not compromising God's word.
ReplyDeleteIt's a temptation some people are tested with. I hope they resist and follow God's commandments to live a chaste life. Some people struggle with alcoholism, or honesty, or whatever - this is a trial just like any other.
ReplyDeleteSo true. I have followed the gay lesbian movement for quite some time, and this is so true about them.
ReplyDeleteIf God ment for fags to be, Adam and Eve would have been Adam and Steve!!! And we would all still be waiting for Adam and Steve to procreate so we could come to earth! Those who practice this behavior deny their divinely given conscience and forget from whence they came (From God who is our home).
ReplyDeleteWow! thanks so much for sharing this, I think this is the BEST way it has ever been said! I agree 100 %
ReplyDeleteI believe that we are here to do the will of God, not man. This makes the discussion rather irrelevant. We all have our ways of defying God and his will. The scriptures and prophets have been clear that this is not in accordance with the plan of salvation.
ReplyDeleteCriticizing, labeling, and fault finding are also not in Heavenly Father's plan. We are to be clear in God's instruction and purposes and show forth greater love. Are we doing this here? He who is without sin, cast ye the first stone.
We want to be careful how we choose to share the good news of the redemption of Christ and the love of our Heavenly Father. Words are very powerful, please use them wisely and prayerfully so that his will might be done.
Its act of treason against the family society and the nation. It violates every moral decency and is without excuse. Homosexuals are among this vile creature earth has ever produce and we cannot allow this cancer to grow.
ReplyDeleteMiguel, I personally believe that kind of attitude and language is not in keeping with the gospel and is what helps turns people away from the plan and Heavenly Father's love and brings possible unnecessary violence and hatred. It feeds the adversary's plan and he sits and laughs while we destroy ourselves instead of doing Heavenly Father's will.
ReplyDeleteI have other things to do so I am out of this conversation, there is nothing more that I could add to what I have said. I hope we are praying for one another because we surely need it.
Amen.. loved the simple but accurate way it was pronounced. I wish something was mentioned about judgement because so many feel we are judging..but there is Scripture talking about when to judge or when not to judge and it gets all twisted by the people who want tolerance. Thank you for this article
ReplyDeleteHomosexuality is Evil. Not just on the Scriptual side of the arguement. Evil is described as something which is detremential. Ever notice the word 'evil' is 'live' spelled backwards? The opposite of alive is dead.
ReplyDeleteIn God's eyes it is one of the most Evil things mankind can participate in or advocate. There are only about 9 sins that God has stated a death penalty for, homosexuality is one of them.
But then there are those who don't follow or acknowledge God's standards/rules/Laws. For them, consider that scientificly homosexuality is a 'dead end' street. Biologically, a living being is either Regenerate or Degenerate, one or the other! By the nature of the beast, homosexuality is Degenerate.
Then there is the aspect of Nature; it is a abberation in nature for homosexuality to exist, EVERY living thing from grass and flowers, to ocean life, to fowls of the air, the trees, the animals, ALL are paired as male and female to produce more of their own kind. The Cedar tree is a great example! Two Cedars growing near each other, the larger one will usually be the female and a branch from her will reach out to be touching the male Cedar tree.
Then we have the history of civilations; EVERY nation, culture, or people who have embraced homosexuality as a viable lifestyle has gone down in RUINS. Not just died off, not just withered away, but were DESTROYED! The Egyptians, the Medes, The Persians, The Greeks, et al. No matter how powerful, how great, how advanced they were, they have all been destroyed! History has a lesson for all mankind, no matter what religion, no matter what race, creed, or skin color, no matter where on the Earth they live, the lesson is till the same: Homosexuality will bring destruction upon that people!
Then there are the FBI stats that show that KNOWN homosexuals are always among the top of the list for rate of suicides. How many more suicides have there been when someone has just 'experiemented around', found themselves in the self-degrading and degenerate world of homosexuality, and didn't know how to forgive themselves and get out of it!!! Drugs, sexually transmitted diseases, immorality, and alcohol abuse are among the 'fruits' of homosexuality. And of course AIDS.
It is a choice, or a series of choices that one makes to become involve in and remain in homosexuality. Getting out of that Evil trap wherein the very souls of men and women are chained to it is difficult, but by no means it is not impossible. The way out is the same as the way into it. One just has to make the choice to reverse their previous choice.
Some say that God made a mistake and put a man in a woman's body or vice versa. We were all male and female as spirits before we came to this Earth to gain our bodies, so when someone says that God put us into the wrong body, that is a lie. God, our Heavnly Father doesn't make mistakes.
As sure as Jesus Christ is the Lord, Amen.
I don't remember how many times the Bible refurs men and weman not being part of one another as far as sex. People go so far as to say even animals have homosexuality in them. This is false. Animals prefourm these acts as a way of showing doment over another of same kind. Also can be called pecking order. Strongest first.
ReplyDeleteI think your reply was perfect. God loves us all. It is wrong, but he still loves us and asks us to love others. It is difficult to love someone when you don't agree with what they are doing, and many have found it easier to love if they also condone. May God keep his people strong in these dark times.
ReplyDeleteI believe homosexuality is an addiction. Some people are prone to behavior addictions, just as some are prone to chemical addictions, and many are prone to porn addiction. It's because of what happens to the chemicals in the brain when exposed to the particular stimulus. Any addiction can be dealt with, but it doesn't go away. Overcoming any addiction is a lifetime challenge. All addicts deserve love. and huge support when they strive to overcome their challenges.
ReplyDeleteI have a son who is homosexual, he served a very successful mission for the church (prior to coming out), married a mormon girl in the temple, and it wasn´t til many years later that he realized what he was and that he just couldn´t change his orientation. He is one of the kindest most generous loving person that you would ever meet. Has a partner that he has been with 15 years. I can see that he is still not happy and wants to lead a heterosexual life, but just hasn´t been able to do it. Has had several girlfriends but it just
ReplyDeletedidn´t work out. I think only the Lord can judge and only the Lord knows all (he is an adopted son and was sexually abused by a man as a child, 5 years old at the time, went on for a year, was raised an orphan, we adopted him when he was 11). I don´t know if the abuse had anything to do with his sexual orientation as not all abused children become homosexual. All I know is the Lord knows my son´s heart, and I do not believe that he will be condemned to a life without glory, the Lord is a god of love, and mercy! We need to love all people, even homosexuals, even if we don´t agree with their lifestyle. I will never accept that a loving God will condemn my son! Let us not take God´s place and become a judge of others! We do not have to agree with the lifestyle but we still need to follow the Savior, who loves the sinner and the sick and afflicted!
One other thing! I very much resent the comment that all homosexuals are a sick and diseased people, prone to crime, abuse and immoral behavior. How dare you quote such unkind and unchristian words! My wonderful homosexual son is none of these things, on the contrary he is always going out of his way to help others, giving of his time and money to help others less fortunate. And many of your so called statistics are way off! Let us not spread hate, there is enough of that going around!
ReplyDeletePamela, thank you for sharing your experience about your son. I can understand why you would come to your son's defense for anyone accusing him of being prone to crime, abuse, etc. I have known very amiable, law biding gay people that would never think of hurting another person. I posted the original comment because his perspective was that homosexuals statistically have higher ratios of problems and that we should not condone or even except it as normal behavior because it hurts society. That is before even mentioning the Biblical reasons.
DeleteI have a distant family relation who has problems with alcohol and was unfaithful to his wife. He is the nicest man, but even though he would give you the shirt off his back he can not seem to make honorable choices because of his weaknesses. We still love him, but will not support him in his choices. He lost everything because of his lifestyle. Yes, he may have been born with a predisposition for these and we have evidence that may be true. And as with your son, I personally believe God will judge and we had better be darn careful we do not. Again, don't take this post to imply that we should torch the sinners. Some have been harsh, but the post did what I was hoping and that was to bring out some thoughtful insights from both sides. Yours is one of the few that caught my eye. My purpose is to draw a line between right and wrong where society is trying to grey those lines.
I agree with the article and the stats speak for themselves. This isn't the first time I've heard those same stats quoted. We are commanded to love the sinner, but we do not have to like the sin they are in. I have worked with homosexuals who were very nice people and would help you in any way they could. And even though I personally liked them as a person, I would not and could not condone their lifestyle. The sad part is, as a Christian, I could see how it was destroying their life, but they were blind to it. I did the only thing I could, kept a right spirit, treated them with human dignity and God's love and prayed for them that the Lord would open their eyes to the truth. It's not my job to condemn them...the Bible already does that and shows the error of their ways plainly...my job is to live for the Lord and show them there is a better way, pray for them, and allow the Lord to work on their hearts.
ReplyDeleteSin is between God and the sinner, not between the sinners and the accusers. Homosexual behavior is chosen by man not by God. When u enjoy a behavior it is not correct to say that it is what is right. The worst liars are our own feelings.
ReplyDeleteA good quote to live by:
Our hearts have no secrets that our conduct does not reveal.

There is a great article in Crisis magazine that offers insight to this post.

Also heard a beautiful statement on the radio yesterday--"Love is a verb." It is an action, not a feeling, and, again, always seeks the ultimate good of the other.
With all due respect, thank you and the rest of the commentators for reminding me of why I am no longer a Christian. It's not only the the shaming and the finger-pointing, it's the inherent hatred that this type of groupthink promotes. That because of a particular spiritual alliance to a religion, a person can point to another and disgrace their character based on their own private beliefs. The love of God is pure and divine, it binds atoms to create matter, it is the medium of communication between the cells in our bodies, it is the force that keeps planets and solar systems in their orbit, it is pure intelligence and perfect in every way. To believe that one has the right to condemn another based on a few sentences from an ancient text is not only incredibly shortsighted, but it also insults the whole of creation. If God created humanity (which we all know to be true), then God also created our psyche and spirit. To condemn the love that he put in a homosexual's heart, is to also condemn the creation of that love... God's creation. Love can never be perverse, for God is love, and to call love a perversion is blasphemy. The type of groupthink promoted here only serves the ego, and your own self-confirming bias. Shame and punishment is only a function of the ego, and not the spirit.
ReplyDeleteGod looks at each human being as if he or she is the only human being. If a person desires another person sexually then he or she has already committed a sin in their mind. If only we behaved as God would have us behave--there would be no abuse of any kind! There would be no need to abort babies! There would be no such thing as homosexuality! The wonderful thing about our dear Lord is that He gave us FREE WIll. Those people who CHOOSE to act in a way abhorrent to God will pay the price. They know the act of homosexuality is WRONG, but they still do it. No legalization of it can make it right. It goes against nature. It is not human. But we must love all people and we must not judge them. We must not spread hate. We who know the TRUTH must correct them. We must pray for them to see hell and to turn from their errors.
ReplyDeleteHomophobic? I wonder if people who use that word even know what a phobia is. I have never known anyone who ran away screaming from a gay person out of fear. This is an exagerated liberal term used to try and discredit someone who doesnt agree with your views. It is not a phobia and you should stop using this silly term. Also liberals love to put all of their opponents into catagories based on these rediculous terms. Homophobic, Islamophobic, Intolerant, Racist, ect, ect. By puting thier enemies in groups and labeling them with exagerated terms they can divide the country and put americans against each other. No one on this blog has said anything about exterminating anyone. Again that is just another silly ploy to discredit. Liberals have to do this because they dont actually have any real arguments to base thier opinions on. They have no idea why they think like they do. The reality is these guys are practicing selective tolerance(theres a label for you) and they actually only tolerate those who agree with them. Everyone else gets a label. These are the actual victims of discrimination.
